Nestled on the edge of the Brecon Beacons in the beautiful and unspoilt Tywi Valley, Y Castell is a lovingly restored 18th-century Georgian coaching inn. Our journey began with a simple vision: to create a warm, relaxed, eclectic, and cosy retreat where everyone feels welcome. After nearly two years of dedicated renovation work, we believe we’ve achieved just that.

Y Castell stands as a testament to our love of history and adventure. When we, Fiona and Jon, took on the challenge of restoring this old pub, we wanted to breathe new life into its storied walls while preserving its authentic Georgian charm. What started as a bold dream has become an incredible adventure, and we’re delighted to share it with you.

Our inn is more than just a place to stay – it's a place where you can relax, explore, and create your own unforgettable memories. Located in the heart of Llangadog, Y Castell was once the focal point of a thriving market town, home to aristocrats, entrepreneurs, and hardworking locals alike. As a central stop for drovers for hundreds of years, the inn was a gathering place filled with rich stories of trade, travel, and camaraderie. Today, Y Castell is a peaceful retreat that carries forward that same spirit of hospitality.
